The purpose of the Heritage Group is:
- To assist in the generation of Heritage Tramway specific guidance in association with the appropriate subject functional group
- Monitor and (when necessary) seek changes to legislation, procedures and their enforcement
- Maintain good relations with the enforcement authorities and other bodies
- Advise the Board on the interests and concerns of Heritage Tramway undertakings
- To provide the initial point of contact with HMRI/ORR on all matters arising relating to health and safety legislation, operational procedures etc. for Heritage Tramway undertakings who are HRA members
