The Tramway Construction Operative Standard is for those who are involved in preparing and delivering a high standard of technical work relating to the construction and renewal of the tramway and the tramway environment.
This is the first apprenticeship which has been designed specifically for the Tramway construction industry and employers have sought a fresh and innovative approach to create an apprenticeship which will leave a long-lasting legacy of skills. The knowledge and skills contained within this apprenticeship are designed to cover a number of disciplines (Rail, Highways, Utilities, Customer Service and general civils) which sit comfortably alongside a core set of behaviours identified as common across those working in and around the Tramway infrastructure.
Completion of this apprenticeship would equip an operative with the necessary transferable skills and experience to seek employment with any company of any size across the entire sector. This creates more opportunities and career stability for individuals and a sustainable talent pipeline for organisations. Both of which are essential for building a workforce that is flexible and will suit future requirements to support the growth and expansion of the industry.
