World’s first train running on virtual tracks released

The world’s first train running on ‘virtual tracks’ has been released in Zhuzhou, China, developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Insti.

The train measuring roughly 30 metres in length, is fitted with sensors that can scan its surroundings and create it’s own journey.

Carrying up to 300 passengers, and being powered by electricity, the train can travel 40 km/h on a full charge, with the train able to travel at speeds of up to 70 km/h.
