Tram Driver National Occupational Standards Review

Welcome! Help shape future of National Occupational Standards for Tram Drivers:

UKTram are working with the Tram industry to review the existing National Occupational Standards for Tram Drivers. NOS set out the skills, knowledge and understanding required to undertake a particular task or job role to a nationally recognised level of competence, helping to formalise training requirements for employers and employees across the UK.

As the name suggests, NOS are developed at occupation/job role level and are structured to reflect the key functions and activities undertaken by individuals engaged in that job role. Activities are broken down and presented within individual standards of competence. There are 19 proposed standards for tram drivers.

We now invite input from the wider industry to ensure the National Occupational Standards fully reflect your needs.

Functional Map An analysis of the main functions of the role of Tram Driver has been performed. The exercise is designed to identify which standards need to be written to ensure that the key functions are covered. The functional map can be accessed here Tram Driver Functional Map V2.0

Standards 19 draft standards covering the main functions of the Tram Driver role have been developed and can be accessed here:

We welcome feedback on the functional map and the draft standards via the survey link below:

Please note that the closing date for the survey is 22 May 2020.
