Representatives from a key Department for Transport ‘Taskforce’ will be among the keynote speakers at a high-profile event later this year for light rail leaders.
The agenda for UKTrams’ Light Rail Summit on September 21 is now taking shape, and members of the Transport Employment Skills Taskforce (TEST) are set to be joined by speakers from Women in Transport, vehicle manufacturer and service provider ZF, and Transport for West Midlands.
Lorraine George, UKTram Business Manager, commented: “While we are still finalising the full list of speakers, this year’s summit is already shaping up to become our most diverse yet.
“It will offer a broad spectrum of perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for light rail in the UK, attracting senior figures from across the sector for a day of high-level networking and topical debate.”
The free event is being held at the Institute of Engineering and Technology’s impressive conference facilities in central Birmingham. Spaces at IET: Austin Court are strictly limited, and anyone planning to attend should book now to avoid disappointment.
“With four months to go, we have already received a large number of bookings and we would urge anyone thinking of taking part to secure their place as soon as possible,” Lorraine added.
