The pooches will be allowed on Metrolink services for free although owners will need to follow rules on safety and cleanliness. As reported here, the move follows a manifesto pledge by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to make public transport as accessible as possible. Each passenger will be allowed to take up to two dogs on board, but they will be liable for their pet’s behaviour, keeping them off the seats and cleaning up any mess they make, Transport for Greater Manchester has said.
