The role of UKTram’s Centre of Excellence in easing and assisting the delivery of new Light Rail systems and network extensions has been put in the spotlight by a leading trade publication.
Established in response to the 2012 UK Government consultation, Green Light for Light Rail, the Centre has since provided expert advice to potential scheme sponsors, stakeholders and developers on the best way to develop their business cases and plans.
In the latest edition of Tramways and Urban Transit, Colin Robey explains how the body has evolved in line with the sector it supports, reflecting changes in the way tramway schemes in the UK are planned and financed.
One of the Centre’s leading figures, Colin also reflects on key issues it aims to address, broadening the range of expertise at its disposal, and projects it’s currently engaged with.
