Edinburgh Trams is just the ticket for those looking to jet off this October break with the launch of a brand new family airport return ticket.
The ticket allows two adults and up to three children to travel to and from the airport for just £22.50 and lets you glide stress free to the departures desk with a saving of over 25%.
Lea Harrison, Managing Director – Edinburgh Trams said: “We are always looking to improve our products and make life easier for those visiting Edinburgh or heading away on a well-deserved break. These new tickets support the tramway’s continued growth at Edinburgh Airport which has increased by 56% since operations started in 2014.”
Edinburgh Trams have also added a completely new type of ticket for travellers. The multi-day tickets gives customers the option of three, four or five consecutive days of unlimited travel across the whole tram network. By purchasing in advance, customers can enjoy cheaper travel, with a three-day ticket costing just £14.50.
George Lowder, Chief Executive – Transport for Edinburgh and Chair of UK Tram said: “With Edinburgh still a top tourist destination and constant technology updates, it’s a positive move for Edinburgh Trams to keep striving to ensure its ticket offering is up to the standard of those seen in other countries operating light rail across Europe.”
This comes on the back of Edinburgh Trams’ removal of the £3 minimum spend for card transactions. The decision was taken after listening to customer feedback and was welcomed by City Transport Officials and Elected Members.
The new tickets can be purchased in advance at edinburghticket.com, customers simply show their ticket on their mobile device, removing the need for paper tickets. For more information on Edinburgh Trams tickets and journey planning, visit edinburghtrams.com/tickets.
