The UKTram and Light Rail Safety and Standards Board teams would like to express their sadness at the news that Simon Johnston, editor of Tramways and Urban Transit, has passed away.

A true gentleman, Simon will be remembered as one of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable supporters of light rail, and he will be greatly missed by colleagues from across the sector.
