Midland Metro Ltd operates and maintains the West Midlands Metro tram network and is a new company owned by the West Midlands Combined Authority. It is an inspiring time for Midland Metro Ltd as the Combined Authority delivers a £1.3 billion investment plan set to significantly expand the tram network, bringing even greater connectivity to people, places and business.

We currently have a pivotal role for a Rolling Stock Manager to join our team, managing the Rolling Stock maintenance and technical teams in delivering the required number of safe and compliant trams for each day’s service, maximising availability through sustained attention to reliability improvement.

Key responsibilities include continuously improving maintenance delivery and fleet reliability through the development of the team, their expertise, the processes employed and the tools used. Working within ISO 9001 framework you’ll ensure levels of quality needed are clearly understood and delivered in addition to making sure that all trams are compliant with required standards and regulatory framework.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of leading, managing and developing the team by supporting and cascading your knowledge on rolling stock maintenance. You will have experience in managing preventative and corrective maintenance on high value safety critical equipment, operational planning and must have experience of working in a regulated industry.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline, with Lean, Six Sigma, auditing, ISO 19001 or similar quality and process control techniques and a Health and Safety qualification would be advantageous.
